Lilli Pilli Street quilt

The Plus Squared quilt is a pattern by Emily Dennis that I made last year for my nieces engagement and I have been wanting to make another quilt using the same pattern for us ever since.
I chose some gorgeous floral fabrics by a local Australian artist Jocelyn Proust which include Callistemon, Eucalyptus, Gum Blossom, Lilli pilli, Orange Blossom, Protea and Waratah designs.
Charcoal is one of my favourite background colours as it really makes the bright fabrics stand out and I really liked it with the red for the block borders.
I made a few less blocks than the throw size of the Plus Squared quilt in the pattern so this quilt finishes at 54 x 66".
The backing is a leaf print in black and white by another Aussie designer, Emma Jean Jansen.
I even had a little kitty "helper" when I was stitching the binding down.
The binding is a silvery colour which matched the some of the grey prints in the quilt.
We have a red couch and a black corner lounge so this is going to be our new throw quilt as it will match them both.
The quilt is named after the Lilli Pilli fabric (above) which is also the name of the street in north Queensland where we lived when I was about 7 years old.
This was on my Q4 FAL list for this year so linking up with the 2018 FAL team.
