August Plus Squared quilt

This is the Plus Squared quilt by Emily Dennis which I first saw in one of the Love Patchwork and Quilting magazines a few issues ago (#32).
This quilt was made for my niece and her partner to celebrate their engagement.
I used Cotton and Steel "August" prints as the recipients are both born in August and share the same starsign of Leo.
These blocks were easy sew and the whole quilt was quite quick to put together.
Quilting was once again rows of serpentine stitch about 2 inches or so apart.
The background fabrics are a linen coloured solid and ivory for the surrounds of the blocks.
I chose a lovely turquoise solid for the binding as it matched the colour in some of the August prints.
There are lion faces peeking out in many of the blocks.
This quilt finished at about 54 x 66" which is a nice throw size.

This project was on my FAL Q1 list for this year so linking up with the 2017 FAL team.

  3. Beautiful! The white sashing beside the prints really makes them pop! Thank you for participating in the FAL, on behalf of the 2017 global FAL hosts.
