Mustang Trail Tote

This "Mustang" Trail Tote is my entry for the "Wilderness" challenge at Le Challenge - you can't get more wild than mustangs, arrows and foxes:)
The Trail Tote pattern by Anna @ Noodlehead comes in two sizes - last year, I made the larger size of the Trail tote and I have wanted to make the smaller size since then.
I love all of the Cotton and Steel ranges, but the Mustang fabrics by Melody Miller from the original Cotton & Steel release are my favourites.
I used a downsized Fancy Fox block along with some other C&S fabrics to make up the patchwork, then quilted the front panel in straight lines.
For the other side of the tote, I used the Mustang arrows canvas in mint metallic.

And I had some lovely green denim here which I have used for the adjustable strap.
There is a welt pocket on the back along with a slip pocket on the interior of the bag.
Metal zips are quite hard to come by but I have found that jeans/trouser zippers are perfect!

  15. beautiful bag ! I have been gathering supplies to make one for my daughter. I bought the wrong hardware so will have to go back shopping. I see that you used two different kinds on the strap - I may have to copy this, it looks different from what I recall from the pattern. I am also thinking of using the foam interfacing. mind if I ask what kind you used ?
