A few "Bee" Blocks...

March is my month for the Fallow group in the Simply Solids Bee and I have chosen these blocks, based on Amy (Badskirt's) X and + tutorial.  The bee members are stash busting for these blocks and are making them using the measurements for a 13" finished block from here
This block popped up in the group even before I had time to make my sample block - I just love the colours that Kathy has used.
And these are the 2 finished "Refractatorium " blocks that I have now sent off to Jane - block #1:
And Block #2:
Making these blocks was definitely stepping outside my comfort zone but I feel that I have now learned so much about paper piecing by making these amazing blocks - they are not quite perfect but being very new to paper piecing, I am really happy with them anyway and am keen to try out a few other pp patterns!

  1. Looking so good! Love that refractorium block! I have done a tiny bit of foundation paper piecing years ago, but I need a refresher, might have to find a tutorial. That looks fantastic!
I have your block cut out and hope to put it together today...

  3. I love both of those blocks. To be honest paper piecing is the only way I want to ever try and do complex blocks!
