Q2 FAL 2018

For this second quarter of 2018, I am rolling over some unfinished projects from last quarter as well as a few new projects...

1. Tula Pink - Hurray for Hexies EPP quilt: I have sewn most of the hexies in sets so now need to join them all together....
2. Vinyl Project pouch: I saw a tutorial on the Moda bake shop recently and would like to make one to hold all those hexies (above).

3. Tabby Road quilt: pairing the Pins and Paws pattern by Jenny Doan from MSQC with the cat themed prints by Tula pink.
4. Ipad case for a mothers day gift for mums new ipad using some Aussie themed bird fabric.
5. Nessie quilt: a cute baby quilt using the pattern by Elizabeth Hartman.
6. Raggy flannel quilt: using some pretty pinks, mint and greys for a cuddly quilt.
7. Star Bright baby quilt - using the Star Bright pattern by Kate Blakesley @ Swim Bike quilt: quilt top is made so just needs quilting and binding.
8. Ahoy Matey quilt: I made this quilt top last year from a pattern by Kristy @ Quiet Play using some beautiful blue batiks and need to get it finished.
9. Virus shawl: I have already used 2 balls of Bouvardia yarn but may need at least one more to make this shawl a bit bigger....
10. Outlander quilt - this is a printed quilt panel so I am using a pattern by Elizabeth Hartman to make some thistles to go along the border to make it into a more useable size.
11. Boxes and Crosses quilt: remaking this quilt in Emma Jean Jansens "Classics" B&W fabrics as the "Green Day" version I made last year is one of my favourites:)
12. Oh Deer baby quilt: another remake of the navy and orange baby boy quilt I made last year using the scrappy tripalong method of piecing.

Japanese lawn AMH blouse

Another blouse I made recently was one in a pretty Japanese lawn again using the Painted Portrait blouse/dress pattern by Anna Maria Horner.
I didn't have quite enough print fabric to make the whole blouse so found a matching cotton lawn for the bodice and lining.
I chose this cute fabric as it is covered in little foxes, bears, bunnies, deer and squirrels.
This was on my Q1 FAL list for this year so linking up with the 2018 FAL team.

Swiss Minty Mojito quilt

The Swiss quilt by Camille Roskelly @ Thimbleblossoms has long been on my list of quilts to make as I really love "plus" quilts.

I changed from the red fabrics in the original quilt pattern to minty shades of green as it is one of my favourite colours and I seemed to have "collected" quite a few fabrics in these colours over the years.
The blocks were made over a few weeks and this was a great project to do over summer as I could just sew a few blocks whenever I had some spare time.
This quilt was longarm quilted at my LQS Rainbow Patchwork in a leafy design which I think suited this quilt well.
The backing is a floral print in shades of green which was just perfect for this quilt.
And the binding is another mint fabric which is almost a solid but with subtle variations in colour.
The quilt was named after my favourite fabric used in the quilt which was the Deity elephant print in Mojito from the "Eden" range by Tula Pink.
I am already keen to make another one of these "Swiss" quilts - the only problem now is to decide what colour to make it in this time...
This project was on my Q1 FAL list for this year so linking up with the 2018 FAL team.

Rainbow Ripple Crochet Baby Blanket

The Neat ripple crochet pattern by Lucy at Attic24 is one of my favourite patterns to crochet and I have already made a few blankets using this pattern including the Sea Glass RippleRainbow Ripple throw, Ocean Waves ripple, and a Coastal Ripple throw.
So when a friend was expecting her first grandchild, I decided to make a crochet ripple blanket for the new baby.
The new baby's parents had decided not to find out whether they were expecting a boy or a girl so a colourful rainbow was a good option.

I used an 8ply soft acrylic yarn for this blanket so it is easy to wash if needed.
This was on my Q1 FAL list for this year so linking up with the 2018 FAL team.

Cloud 9 AMH blouse

This Anna Maria Horner Painted Portrait blouse is one of my favourite patterns and I recently made it up an organic Cloud 9 fabric.
This particular print is "Wild Strawberry" from Garden Secrets by Sarah Watson which is a poplin by Cloud 9.
I was able to find some pale pink lawn to use for the lining of the bodice which matched one of the colours in the fabric.
This is such a lovely cool blouse to wear in the warmer weather.
This was on my Q1 FAL list for this year so linking up with the 2018 FAL team.
