Hi, and welcome if you are visiting from the Bloggers Quilt festival! Last year, I joined the Scrappy Trip along and made a quilt using 180 different prints from one of my favourite designers, Denyse Schmidt.
Well, it is actually 182 different prints including the backing and binding:) I planned each block to have a darker strip running through the centre to form a diagonal pattern when the blocks were sewn together.
I used one of my favourite DS prints from Aunt Edna on the back - a bright and cheery Orange Leaf.I really love how this quilt has turned out - the Trip Along blocks were so easy to make!
It was quilted in a cross hatch grid which was quite easy to do - I didn't mark out my lines but just eyeballed them as I quilted.
Now that it is getting cooler here in Australia, we have this quilt on our bed and Simba also loves to snuggle up in it.
Pattern: Scrappy Trip Around the World tutorial from Quiltville Quips and Snips here
Size: Lap Size - 60x72"
Quilting: Straight line quilting in a cross hatch grid pattern
Fabrics:180 different strips of Denyse Schmidt fabrics from Picnic and Fairgrounds, Winding Roads, Daisy Mae, Sugar Creek, Aunt Edna, Richmond, Chicopee, Flea Market Fancy, Meadowlark, Hope Valley, Katie Jump Rope, and Fancy Free.
Backing: DS Aunt Edna Multi Leaf on Mini Dot Orange

As this is a scrappy quilt, I am entering it into the "Scrappy quilts" category in the Blogger's Quilt Festival hosted by Amy @ Amy's Creative Side.
