We are in the middle of a cold and wet long weekend to celebrate the Queen's birthday. It was also my birthday the other day and these are some of the lovely gifts I received from my family and friends. There was also a very delicious mud cake but I can't take a photo of that as it is all gone:)
So, with not much else to do but stay inside and whilst my two sons are playing the PS3 happily together, I can sit and sew :) So far I have made a made a QAYG pillow using some more of the Denyse Schmidt fabrics as the red is the perfect colour for my couch.
I would also like to make a pinwheel pillow like this one as I have some other fabrics here but I am not sure if the reds in them are too "orangey"?
I haven't had a chance to read the Fresh Fabric Treats book yet but I hope to look through it this evening whilst sitting on my nice red "birthday" couch, listening to my new CD and eating some yummy chockies!I will have to check them again in the morning as it is too dark here now to get a proper look in natural light.

Awww The scotty pillow is so cute sitting there. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't you just hate that you have to wait for the next day to check fabrics? The day winds down, you've finished one project or stage, and feel eager to start on the next and take advantage of the quiet time, but that darned lighting thing really can make a difference!

ReplyDeleteI clicked on your linky because of the photo of one of my favorite blocks: a log cabin. I think the red/blues in that block are charming--from the photo you've taken, it looks great, but you're right. It's best to check this in the light of day.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a fine birthday! It looks like you did.
